Presenter: PRINCESS MANUEL, AF3IRM South Bay Co-Coordinator
AF3IRM has a rich history of agitating, mobilizing and organizing to gain genuine freedom for womankind, with deep roots that began in 1989. We were once Gabnet, a Phillippine-U.S. solidarity organization, and since 2010, we have grown and evolved into a new formation- AF3IRM, a national organization of transnational, im/migrant women with intersecting background and experiences. We now engage in movement-building from within the United States, while building horizontal alliances across borders around our three main campaign areas including: anti-militarism in all its forms, anti-trafficking, and im/migrant women's rights.
Workshop: Trafficking and Organizing the Community
AF3IRM and participants will explore the trafficking of women and children in the local communities and it's connections to the global economy. With this knowledge, participants will learn how to organize and mobilize their own communities in order to challenge and dismantel the power structures that make trafficking of women and children possible.
Workshop is open to Womyn & self identified female folx, LGBTQ community, families and children
